Artist's Biography

Lisa Wild Healey

Biography: Born New York and raised in Pennsylvania, Lisa, went to Allegheny College for art but fell into teaching and enjoyed art and gifted for 25 years. After raising twins with her husband of 37 years, she is now able to pursue her art fully. This includes ceramic and plaster sculpture and macro photography inspired by nature and environment. Her work shows people in and connected to their environment, often combining human and natural forms. Lisa has enjoyed showing at several Kansas City galleries including Buttonwood Art Space, Jone’s Gallery, Hilliard Gallery, as well as the Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis. She was one of the original artists to create a Kansas City Heart sculpture and was involved in the Nelson-Atkins Museum Portrait of a City and has 2 photos included in their publication by that name.Lee Art Center, Albrecht Kemper Museum and has shown in the Praxis Gallery, Minneapolis, MN. It is her belief that art must be shared. It is her belief that art must be shared. Lisa hopes her work inspires others to create and that her nature based work reminds us that we are part of a bigger world and we need to protect our natural environment.
